“Massive” Germiston Industrial Property and Heavy Engineering Equipment On The Block
Park Village Auctions will soon bring to market this “Massive” Industrial property in Germiston along with a wide array of heavy engineering equipment.

Park Village Auctions will soon bring to market a sizable 5.2-hectare Germiston-based industrial property along with heavy engineering equipment, vehicles, office furniture and equipment belonging to a prominent furnace and mining equipment fabricator now in business rescue.

That’s the word from PVA’s Jaco du Toit who says that the upcoming auction is “not to be missed” and will appeal to stakeholders across the furnace and smelting, mining and materials handling, manufacturing, and power generation sectors.

Both the property and assets will be sold on Thursday the 23rd of August at 11am. All assets will be sold piecemeal by way of public auction at 30 Lamp Road on the corner Kreupelhout Street, Wadeville, Germiston.

Regarding the property to be auctioned, du Toit explains that it is zoned industrial 1, measures just over five hectares and occupies an ideal position in the well-established industrial node to the East of Johannesburg. It is easily accessible from the N17 and N3 highways via the Osborne Road and Heidelberg Road off-ramps respectively.

The property boasts two office buildings, large industrial workshops and warehouse structures with ancillary offices, and other improvements.

The main office building takes the form of a double storey comprising, on the ground floor, a reception and foyer, an executive boardroom with a bar, a staff kitchen, staff cloakrooms with a shower, a strong room, a climate-controlled server room, three open-plan offices and seven private offices. A pedestrian staircase from the reception leads to the upper level which comprises a boardroom and sixteen private offices. The secondary office building is free-standing single storey structure composed of additional offices, a boardroom, a kitchen and cloakroom.

The manufacturing complex consists of six adjoining workshops which are combined to form a large open-plan manufacturing workshop area fitted with assorted swing and gantry cranes, offices, storerooms, staff toilets, a compressor room, and a backup generator room.

A sandblasting spray booth, secondary warehouses, workshops, security offices, a large staff canteen, male and female ablution facilities, and ample parking space also features on the property which, in total, measures approximately 21 000sqm’s under roof.

Notes du Toit: “Investment buyers can start yielding a profit from the property almost as soon as it has been bought. There is considerable letting interest with prospective tenants waiting to take a large portion of the property with immediate effect at potentially R35 per square metre.”

Following immediately after the sale of the property, a large assortment of engineering equipment will go under the hammer.

Milling machines, lathes, and compressors include: a Pegard, an Atlas B7000 compressor, an Akumi CNC V10, a Dilian Centre lathe, an Alpha Harrison, an R8 milling machine, bandsaws, a peddinghams cropper, radial arm and Pedestal Drills, a CNC Press Brake, a Hercules Wetzlar pipe roll machine, plate rollers, and vertical pipe rollers.

Under the banner of welders, feeders, and plasma cutters a Star Weld Alfatig, a Modweld 450, Powertec Pro, a Lincoln, a Migmac Harwin, a Blunthunter, a Beveller welder, as well as a variety of steel containers, Argon torches, power tools, work benches, a Nagata Hl20 Ton Scale and a Wap Steam Cleaner will be on the block.

Vehicles to be sold include various makes and models from manufacturers such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Nissan. Specific vehicles include a Ford Ranger, a Volkswagen Polo, an Isuzu Drop Side Rigid Truck and forklifts.

Finally, under the banner of office furniture and equipment, boardroom furniture, desks, chairs, leather couches, televisions, computers, laptops, printers, filing cabinets, fridges,.

“We expect quite a turn-out at this auction. It’s not often that a sale of this magnitude brings together so many assets that can be used for such a wide variety of applications.” Concludes du Toit.
